Winegrowing

An ancestral knowledge linked to modernity

Did you know that?

Corsican wines are part of an ancestral know-how linked to modernity which has earned it an Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) but also an Appellation d’Origine Protégée (AOP) and an Indication Géographique Protégée “Vins Île de Beauté” for its 30 grape varieties.
These gratifying qualifications exist above all to fight against the overproduction carried out on the island for years.

Corsica, with its particular mediterraneen climate, is an optimal land for wine production.

There are 21 different grape varieties in Corsica. The most known, niellucciu, sciacarellu, vermentinu, etc.., have contributed to the renown of the Corsican wine, resulting in 3 protected labels, AOC, AOP and IGP.
