Cutlery

An essential for the Corsican shepherd

Did you know that?

It is an art object resulting from a precise and mastered know-how which does not leave room for industrialization and the manufacture with the chain in other countries which claim to come from Corsica.

The traditional knife was a must have for the Corsican shepherd throughout the centuries.

Its fabrication is more art than craftsmanship and cannot be replicated in industrial fabrication. Its iron or forged steel blade is heated at 1150 °C then hammered dozens of times, until the blade is only a few millimeters thin. The handle is usually made of horn or wood.
